I came across a quote from Stephen Sondheim that I really liked:

“If people have split views about your work, I think it’s flattering. I’d rather have them feel something about it than dismiss it.”

So true, so true…  I think all art—be it writing, painting, sculpture, music—should challenge people and make them think.
